2021 Volkswagen Tiguan To Launch Soon
After more than a year away, the Volkswagen Tiguan is due to return to our market during the next holiday season (since its discontinuation in April 2020). The facelift for the Tiguan in India was already shown earlier this year, with some visual tweaks as well as additional functions. Following the release of the Taigun mid-size SUV, the new Tiguan will hit the market.
The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan retains its sleek, squared-off appearance, but it now features a sharper LED Matrix headlamp design that tapers toward the end, a modified grille, reworked front bumper with triangular-shaped fog light clusters, and new 18-inch alloy wheels. The Tiguan looks almost identical to the Tiguan Allspace from the back.
The interiors of the facelifted Tiguan are similar to those of the Allspace, with the exception of the temperature control system’s touchscreen interface, which replaces the buttons and knobs.
Six airbags, an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, linked car tech, three-zone temperature control, a panoramic sunroof, leather seats, and ambient lighting will all be standard on the Tiguan facelift.
The 2.0-liter, four-cylinder TSI turbo-petrol engine with 190hp and 320Nm will power the Tiguan facelift (same unit as in the Tiguan Allspace). A 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission will handle gearshifts, and VW’s 4MOTION all-wheel-drive technology will be standard.
The 2021 Volkswagen Tiguan is anticipated to cost between Rs 26 – Rs 29 lakh (ex-showroom). The five-seat Tiguan redesign will compete with other premium monocoque SUVs like the Hyundai Tucson and Jeep Compass, which also offer a diesel engine option.
