2023 Honda City India launch by March 2023

In India, Honda is preparing a mid-lifecycle upgrade for the fifth-generation City, which should go on sale in March 2023. The upgrade, which will be the first since the product’s mid-2020 introduction, will only include modest aesthetic adjustments, according to our sources. Honda will probably release a new trim as well as a version rejig for the standard City in order to boost the attraction of the petrol-hybrid powertrain.

The 2023 Honda City, like other Honda mid-lifecycle modifications, is probably only going to affect the soft plastic components. It is anticipated to receive updated front and back bumpers as well as new alloy wheels. Honda will also rearrange the City’s variant lineup. While no significant interior modifications are anticipated, additional options like ventilated seats and wireless charging, which rivals provide, may be included.

At the moment, Honda only provides the e:HEV powertrain on the top-of-the-line ZX version. It costs much more than regular City petrol, which presently has a maximum price of Rs 15.62 lakh, at Rs 19.89 lakh (ex-showroom) (ex-showroom). Honda will reportedly release a more economical City e:HEV trim, bridging the gap between petrol and hybrid vehicles.

The 2023 Honda City will only be available as a petrol-powered sedan. As we have previously reported, Honda will stop making the City’s 100hp, 1.5-liter diesel engine in April 2023 as a result of the impending RDE regulations.

As a result, the 121hp, the 1.5-liter petrol engine will be available in the City facelift, paired with either a 6-speed manual or CVT automatic transmission. Another option is the 1.5-liter Atkinson Cycle petrol-hybrid engine with 126 horsepower and an e-CVT gearbox.

Expect the City makeover to cost a little more than the outgoing model. The City will still compete with vehicles like the Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and Hyundai Verna, among others. Additionally, a new version of The Verna is scheduled to make its appearance in the upcoming months.

Honda is also getting set to launch a brand-new midsize SUV in India by the middle of 2023. The automaker teased the impending SUV earlier this month, offering us a glimpse of what the SUV would look like. Its basis will be an upgraded version of the Amaze’s, and it probably will share the City’s engine options with it. This year, a pricing announcement will be made closer to the holiday season.
