2023 Kia Seltos Gets Panoramic Sunroof

The Kia Seltos has been on the market in India since 2019, and the facelift has been accessible globally since mid-2022. Kia expects to introduce the facelift in India in July 2023, and the midsize SUV will include a panoramic sunroof, which is not available in the present model.

Since its inception in India, the Seltos has only had a single-pane sunroof, but it now features a panoramic sunroof. Notably, the Hyundai Creta, the Seltos’ cousin, has a panoramic sunroof when the second generation was released in 2020. After the Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, and MG Astor, the Seltos will be the fifth midsize SUV to include a panoramic sunroof.

The forthcoming Seltos makeover will include a new grille and headlamps. The LED daytime running lights are still integrated into the grille, but they are now significantly lower than previously. Aside from a new design for the alloy wheels, not much has changed in terms of profile.

The Seltos’ rear, on the other hand, receives the biggest changes. It features new taillights connected by an LED lightbar that also houses the Kia insignia. A chrome strip connects the taillamps of the current model. The tailgate has also been changed, with a larger indentation for the license plate.

Along with the panoramic sunroof, the Seltos facelift will have ADAS, making it the first Kia in India to do so. Six airbags will be standard, as will hill-assist control, vehicle stability management, parking sensors, and a camera.

In addition, the 2023 Kia Seltos will include two 10.25-inch displays, one for the instrument cluster and one for the infotainment system. Automatic gearbox-equipped Seltos facelift variants are also slated to gain a rotary drive selector instead of the traditional lever.

The present 115hp, 144Nm, 1.5-liter petrol engine and the 116hp, 250Nm, 1.5-liter turbo-diesel engine will be retained under the hood of the Seltos facelift. Kia is also likely to reintroduce the turbo-petrol engine in the Seltos but in a 1.5-liter, 160hp, 253Nm configuration rather than the 140hp, 242Nm, 1.4-liter mill. The new turbo-petrol engine may be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission or a 6-speed iMT.

The 2023 Kia Seltos will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and the future Honda Elevate and Citroen C3 Aircross when it is released later this year.
