Bajaj Pulsar 180 Has Been Discontinued

The Bajaj Pulsar 180 is no longer available from Bajaj Auto in India, and the model is no longer shown on the manufacturer’s website. Although the firm hasn’t given a reason, we think the low demand for the model may be to blame.

Bajaj Pulsar 180

One of the earliest Pulsar models to be released was the 180cc variation. The model was superseded by its semi-faired brother, the 180F, and was retired for the first time in 2019, ahead of the BS6 emission standards. The Pulsar 180 was then relaunched by Bajaj in February of last year, replacing the 180F in turn.

A 178.6cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that produced 14.2Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm and 17 horsepower at 8,500 rpm drove the Pulsar 180. The engine was coupled to a 5-speed transmission.

Its equipment included a digi-analog instrument cluster, an LED taillight, and a halogen headlight. The suspension was handled by a telescopic fork and mono shock, while braking was handled by 280mm front and 230mm rear discs with single-channel ABS as standard.

While the 180’s demise may upset Pulsar aficionados, it does create opportunities for later Pulsar models in the lineup.
