BYD Atto 3 EV SUV Launched At Rs 33.99 Lakh

The BYD Atto 3 EV from Chinese automaker BYD (Build Your Dreams) is now available in India for Rs 33.99 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Following the e6 MPV, which was made available to private purchasers back in August of this year, the Atto 3 is BYD’s second model for India.

Since the SUV’s October 11 debut, BYD has been taking reservations for the Atto 3 for a nominal fee of Rs 50,000. According to the business, they have already received 1,500 bookings. The initial delivery run will start in January 2023.

BYD is providing a warranty for the battery for 8 years or 1.6 lakh miles, a motor and motor controller warranty for 8 years or 1.5 lakh miles, and a vehicle warranty for 6 years or 1.5 lakh miles, whichever comes first. The business is also providing a 6-year roadside assistance contract, a 3-year complimentary 4G broadband subscription, and six complimentary maintenance treatments.

The BYD Atto 3 EV has slim headlights with wing-shaped LED DRLs on either side of a silver front grille that has been blanked out. The trapezoid-shaped dual-tone bumper, the faux silver skid plate, and the BYD inscription on the grille are further features at the front.

The electric SUV has silver-finished C-pillars, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, strong shoulder lines, and blacked-out wheel arches on the sides. The Atto 3 has a huge ‘Build Your Dreams’ inscription, a roof-mounted spoiler, full-length LED taillights, a muscular dual-tone bumper, and other exterior features. Four colors—Boulder Grey, Parkour Red, Ski White, and Surf Blue—are offered for the Atto 3 model.

The interior of the electric SUV features a distinctive layout with features like door-mounted circular speakers, chic air conditioning vents, and a 12.8-inch rotating center screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The BYD Atto 3 EV comes equipped with a panoramic sunroof, a powered tailgate, a wireless phone charger, a 5.0-inch digital instrument panel, synthetic leather upholstery, a powered front driver and passenger seats, and ambient lighting in a variety of colors. ADAS technology, a 360-degree camera, ABS, ESC, traction control, hill descent control, and seven airbags are among its safety features.

The Atto 3’s front axle-mounted permanent magnet synchronous electric motor generates 201 horsepower and 310 Nm of torque, enabling the electric SUV to sprint from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in a claimed 7.3 seconds. The 60.48kWh Blade battery pack from BYD gives the Atto 3 a 521km ARAI-rated range and regenerative braking.

With a Type 2 (7kW) AC charger, the battery pack of the Atto 3 can be charged in about 10 hours, and with an 80kW DC fast charger, it can be charged in 50 minutes (from 0% to 80%). The business sells a 3kW portable charging box and a 7kW home charger.

With a 3.3kW power output, the Vehicle to Load function of the BYD Atto 3 EV allows the battery pack to be used to power external electrical equipment.

In the Indian market, the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona Electric compete against the BYD Atto 3. The Nexon EV Max will compete against the Atto 3 even though it is not a direct price rival.
