Ford Endeavour price hike
In India, the price of the Ford Endeavor SUV was hiked by Rs 44,000 and up to Rs 1.20 lakh. Originally Ford Endeavour price hike was expected in April. The nationwide lockout, however, has led the manufacturer to extend the promotional pricing of the SUV until July 31, 2020, in a bid to spur demand.
Prices for the entry-level version Endeavor Titanium 4×2 were hiked by Rs 44,000. In addition, prices for the top-spec Titanium+ variants were hiked by a substantial Rs 1.20 lakh each.
The Ford Endeavour faces competition from the Toyota Fortuner and the Mahindra Alturas G4 in this BS6 period. The Ford Endeavour price hike means that the Endeavour diesel range is now priced on par with the Fortuner’s. The Ford still manages to significantly beat the Toyota at the bottom but is marginally more expensive at the top.
Note, Toyota currently offers a limited edition Fortuner TRD model that comes with more equipment such as a 360-degree camera and a heads-up display and is priced from Rs 34.98 lakh to Rs 36.88 lakh. As before, the Mahindra Alturas continues to beat both of its rivals by a wide margin. The Isuzu MU-X, the other competitor in this series, has yet to be upgraded to meet BS6 emission standards.
The modified Ford Endeavor has launched at Rs 29.55 lakh in February. The key point of discussion was the addition of an all-new, 2.0-liter turbo-diesel engine compliant with BS6. The four-pot engine, dubbed ‘EcoBlue’ by Ford, puts out 170hp and 420Nm torque. As standard, the engine is fitted with a new automatic 10-speed gearbox; there’s no more manual. The BS6 Ford Endeavour’s ARAI-rated fuel efficiency is 13.9kpl and 12.4kpl respectively, for the 4×2 and 4×4 models.
Among other items, the revised Endeavour gets LED headlights, a new alloy wheel design, and new connected-car tech ‘FordPass’ from Ford.
