Jeep Compass Price Hiked By Rs 1.80 Lakh
Depending on the grade, Jeep has increased the cost of the Compass SUV by up to Rs 1.2 lakh. The base Sport trim of the Compass now costs Rs 20.89 lakh, and the top-spec Trailhawk costs Rs 32.67 lakh. The previous price increase for the Jeep Compass occurred just two months ago, in September, when prices were increased by Rs 90,000 across the board. This is the fourth price increase Compass has experienced this year.
The higher-specified Limited, Anniversary Edition, Model S, and Trailhawk models cost an additional Rs 40,000–45,000. This is shown in the table above. Price increases of between Rs 15,000 and 25,000 are made to the Longitude and Night Eagle models, which have less advanced specifications. The base Sport petrol manual, however, experiences the largest price increase of Rs 1.80 lakh, while the base Sport diesel-pricing manual’s are unaffected.
What’s more intriguing is that at the start of the year, the base petrol-manual Compass variation cost Rs 18.04 lakh, while the top-spec diesel Trailhawk variant cost Rs 30.72 lakh. Thus, in less than 10 months, the price of the standard petrol model has increased dramatically by Rs 3.05 lakh, while the Trailhawk is now Rs 1.95 lakh more expensive.
A 1.4-liter turbo-petrol engine with 163 horsepower and 250 Nm is one of Compass’s available powertrain options. It may be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. A 2.0-liter diesel engine with 170 horsepower and 350 nm is also available. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission. The 4×4 system is only available with the diesel-AT powerplant on the higher-spec models.
The Jeep Compass competes against a variety of SUVs due to its wide price range, including the new Hyundai Tucson and Citroen C5 at the top end and Tata Harrier and MG Hector at the low end.
On November 17, Jeep will also introduce the new Grand Cherokee in India. It will serve as Jeep’s new national flagship vehicle and the first to be locally built in this nation.
