Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 CNG Launched At A Price Of INR 5.95 Lakh

With a starting price of Rs 5.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Alto K10 CNG, the brand’s 13th CNG model. The CNG version, which is exclusively available in the VXi variant, costs Rs 95,000 more than the Alto K10 with an identical petrol engine.

According to Maruti Suzuki, it has sold over 1 million CNG vehicles to date, preventing over 1 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.

The 1.0-liter K10C engine, which is only paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, also powers the recently released S Presso CNG and Celerio CNG. The new engine produces 65 horsepower and 89 Nm of torque while running on gasoline alone, but just 57 horsepower and 82 Nm when running on CNG.

The current most fuel-efficient CNG model, the Celerio CNG, has a fuel efficiency rating of 33.85km/kg, which Maruti believes the new Alto K10 CNG can match. This rating is 1.12km/kg better than the S Presso CNG, but 1.75km/kg lower than the Celerio CNG. The manufacturer claims that in order to improve the Alto K10 CNG’s overall ride quality, comfort, and safety, the suspension setup has been re-calibrated.

With the exception of the inclusion of the S-CNG emblem at the rear, the Alto K10 CNG’s exterior is identical to that of its petrol-powered predecessor. The brand limited the amount of storage by putting the 55-liter CNG tank in the hatchback’s boot.

The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 CNG’s interior is identical to the corresponding VXi trim of the petrol version and receives the same amenities. A 2-Din SmartPlay audio system with Bluetooth, AUX, and USB ports, a speed- and impact-sensing auto door lock, a gear shift indicator, and more are included. Dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, and seat belt reminders are all safety features.

The Renault Kwid, which lacks a CNG option, is the only direct competitor to the new Alto K10 CNG at this entry-level end of the market. The affordable hatchback’s CNG variant, however, also faces competition from other Maruti models like the S Presso CNG and the Alto 800 CNG, all of which cost 5.03 lakh rupees (Rs 5.90 lakh-6.10 lakh).
