Maruti Suzuki Fronx Launched At A Price Of Rs 7.47 Lakh

The Fronx was introduced by Maruti Suzuki at a price of Rs 7.47 lakh for the base Sigma trim and Rs 13.14 lakh for the top-spec Alpha turbo variant. The Baleno-based coupe crossover made its debut at Auto Expo in January, and reservations for a pittance of Rs 11,000 were already being taken. The Fronx costs Rs 86,000 more than the Baleno at the starting price, but because it also has a turbo-petrol engine, the upper end is significantly more expensive.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is offered in seven colours—Arctic White, Earthern Brown, Opulent Red, Splendid Silver, Bluish Black, Celestial Blue, and Grandeur Grey—and five trims—Sigma, Delta, Delta+, Zeta, and Alpha. Additionally, Earthern Brown, Opulent Red, and Splendid Silver colour options come in dual-tone variations.

In terms of engines, the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine is back with the Fronx. This engine was first offered in the Baleno RS back in 2017, however, due to limited demand and the switch to BS6, it was removed from production. With a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox or a 5-speed manual gearbox, the Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine produces 100 horsepower and 147 pound-feet of torque. As a result, the Fronx is now the sole Maruti Suzuki model with a turbo-petrol engine choice.

Another option is a 1.2-litre, 90-horsepower petrol engine that is used in a number of Maruti vehicles. Both a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT automatic gearbox are available with this engine.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has several design cues with Maruti Suzuki’s Grand Vitara SUV, such as an upright snout and split headlamps. Additionally, it has larger front and rear bumpers with chrome and false skid plates. The Fronx is the only Maruti vehicle to have 17-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx also incorporates several Baleno hatchback design cues into its exteriors, such as the rising waistline, which has a noticeable lean over the rear wheels, and the sloping roofline. The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is comparable to the Baleno in terms of size at 3,995mm long, 1,550mm high, and 1,765mm broad.

The Fronx’s interior resembles the Baleno hatchback quite a bit, with a huge, free-standing, 9-inch touchscreen serving as the centrepiece. However, the hues and textures used are different from the Baleno. While the interior of the compact SUV is black and brown, that of the hatchback is blue and black. The dashboard has multiple layers as well, although Maruti is still using physical controls for the HVAC system.

Maruti Suzuki Fronx

The Fronx is equipped with features including a steering wheel covered in leather, a 360-degree camera, a heads-up display, wireless charging, linked car technology, and six airbags when it is in top-spec Alpha trim.

The Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza are just a few of the small SUVs that the Fronx competes against.
