Maserati Ghibli Trofeo and Quattroporte Trofeo revealed 580-horsepower

The high-performance luxury sedans Maserati Ghibli Trofeo and Quattroporte Trofeo have been unveiled. The new range-topping models are the fastest production Maserati cars yet, capable of a top speed of 326kph.

The Trofeo-badged pair is powered by a V8 engine, derived from Ferrari. The 3.8-liter model positions 580hp at 6,750rpm and 730Nm at 2,250-5,250rpm, respectively. Power is sent to the rear wheels, through an automatic 8-speed gearbox supplied by ZF. The Ghibli Trofeo will reach 0-100kph in 4.3sec, the first Ghibli to feature a V8, although the Quattroporte Trofeo would take 0.2sec longer. As already mentioned, both sedans can reach a top speed of 326kph.

Maserati has introduced to the super-sedans a new extreme ‘Corsa’ driving mode that enhances throttle and engine responses, speeds gearshifts, completely opens the exhaust valves, stiffens, and lowers the suspension and restricts the electronic chassis control systems’ interference. It also includes a feature called Launch Control.

All sedans feature improvements to muscle styling to differentiate them from their younger counterparts and enhance aerodynamic performance and cooling. It also sports larger, 21-inch alloys. In addition, there are sporty new trimmings and leather sports seats to fit inside, along with Maserati ‘s latest MIA infotainment, which is controlled by an expanded touchscreen (10.1-inch vs 8.4-inch).

The Maserati Ghibli Trofeo takes on the likes of the BMW M3, the Mercedes-AMG C 63, and the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio in foreign markets. Meanwhile, the bigger Maserati Quattroporte Trofeo is competing with super sedans such as the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-AMG E 63.

Along with the Levante Trofeo SUV, which is powered by the same engine but gets all-wheel drive, Maserati will put the Ghibli Trofeo and Quattroporte Trofeo into our market. Bookings for all three Trofeo models have been opened, with prices scheduled for announcement in the coming months.

Through increasing the number of dealerships the Italian retailer is currently looking to grow its presence in India. The Ghibli Hybrid and the soon-to-be-revealed MC20 super sports car are among other Maseratis bound for India.
