Mercedes-Benz GLB And EQB SUV To Launch In India On December 2

On December 2, 2022, Mercedes-Benz will reveal the prices for not one, but two new SUVs in India. Bookings for both the three-row GLB and its electric vehicle sibling, the EQB, have started for a nominal fee of Rs 1.5 lakh. Both vehicles will be unveiled on the same day.

The MFA2 platform serves as the foundation for both the Mercedes-Benz GLB And EQBs. The GLB will be offered in three different versions in India: the base GLB 200, the mid-range GLB 220d, and the top-of-the-line GLB 220d 4Matic. The GLB 200 petrol will have a 1.3-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 163 horsepower and a seven-speed automatic transmission, while the GLB 220d siblings will have a 2.0-liter engine with 190 horsepower and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The GLB 200 will only be offered with the single Progressive Line exterior option, which includes an 18-inch alloy wheel, a faux skid plate, a dual slat grille, and exterior chrome trim.

The AMG Line kit, which includes a sharper-looking bumper, a single-slat AMG-themed grille, and 19-inch AMG five-spoke alloy wheels, will be offered with the GLB 220d.
Both variants include a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a touchscreen that is situated in the center of the interior. There will be three interior and five exterior color options available for the GLB SUV in India.

The EQB, India’s first seven-seater EV, will be Mercedes’ third electric model there following the EQS sedan and the EQC SUV.

Most of its body panels and overall appearance are shared with its ICE rival, the GLB, but it also receives a few EQ-specific stylistic modifications, including a blanked-off front grille and a distinctive headlight design. The EQB’s interior resembles that of the GLB exactly on the inside, with the exception of a splash of gold paint on the turbine-like vents.

The entry-level EQB 300 version of the EQB EV SUV will be offered for sale in India. It has a 228hp motor and a 66.5kWh battery with an advertised range of up to 419km (WLTP).
