Tata Altroz XE+ Launched At A Price Of INR 6.35 Lakh
Tata Motors has added a new XE+ model to the Altroz hatchback lineup, priced at Rs 6.35 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new trim level replaces the XM trim and is one step above the entry-level XE trim.
The Tata Altroz XE+ variant is available with both normally aspirated petrol and turbo-diesel engines at Rs 6.35 lakh and Rs 7.55 lakh. It costs Rs 45,000 and Rs 50,000 more than the XE petrol and diesel models. Over the base XE trim, the XE+ adds a 3.5-inch Harman infotainment system with four speakers, Bluetooth connectivity, FM and AM radio, a USB port, a fast USB charger, remote keyless entry, manually adjustable and electrically foldable ORVMs, electric temperature control, and follow me home and find me headlamp functions.
The Tata Altroz XE+ trim lacks a rear parcel shelf, wheel covers for the steel wheels, and motorized adjustment for the ORVMs as compared to the previous XM trim.
Tata has also used this occasion to modify Altroz’s pricing. Apart from the base XE petrol, which has been reduced by Rs 10,000, all other Altroz versions have seen price increases ranging from Rs 400 to Rs 8,500. This is Altroz’s second price increase this year, following the one in August.
The Tata Altroz is available with a 1.2-liter normally aspirated petrol engine rated at 86hp, a 1.5-litre diesel engine rated at 90hp, and a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine rated at 110hp. All three engines come equipped with a 5-speed manual transmission. For the time being, the Altroz does not have an automatic transmission option.
The Tata Altroz competes in our market with other premium hatchbacks such as the new Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Honda Jazz.
