The 2020 Honda Jazz is coming to India. Honda Motors has applied for intellectual property (IP) patent in India for the design of the Jazz 2020. The company has done so to protect and assert its intellectual property (IP) rights of the car.
Is the new Jazz coming to India? We can’t say, yet. If launched, it could be priced above Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be a direct rival of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Hyundai Elite i20.
We had previously reported that the Jazz is questionable to be launched in India owing to the current model’s meager sales. However, Honda has given the current car a minimalist facelift with a BS6 engine and is likely to launch it soon after the ongoing lockdown is lifted.
Although the 2020 Honda Jazz has never been a popular seller like its rivals, the Honda Amaze has performed well in the Indian market. If the 2020 Honda Jazz steps in India, a BS6 oil burner option will prove to be an advantage over Maruti’s diesel-bereft lineup.
For its 2020 model, the Jazz comes with renovated looks, an upgraded interior, premium features, and a dual-motor hybrid powertrain. While technical specifications are not yet revealed, it is anticipated to utilize a 1.5-liter petrol engine.
However, if launched, expect the prices to go above the current model which is priced from Rs 7.45 lakh(ex-showroom). It will be a direct competitor of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20, Toyota Glanza, and the Tata Altroz in India.
