The new list allowed activities don’t have the Auto Industry
After the Prime Minister of India – Narendra Modi announced the extension of the Lockdown to May 3, for the survival of the economy in India the Ministry of Home Affairs also issued a notification the day after.
It included the list allowed activities under the lockdown period. Where it was expected to include the Automobile Sector, But It wasn’t.
Earlier the Ministry of commerce had written a letter about allowing the activities essential to improve the economic activity (sic) and to provide liquidity in the hands of people.
It also suggested commencing the operations of big industries such as automobile manufacturing with just 20-25 percent workforce in single-shift operation.
Right now the Indian automobile industries are facing a loss of Rs 2300 crore turnover daily due to the lockdown (Estimated by SIAM). Well, the latest lockdown will likely to delay the deadline for BS4 Registrations.
Right now brands like Hyundai (See this – Hyundai availed its ‘Click to Buy’ service across India)and Tata (See this – Now you can book TATA Cars and SUVs online) have launched their Online platforms to sell vehicles.
