Toyota Hilux Will Finally Launch On January 23
Toyota is preparing to launch its pickup truck, the Hilux, in India on January 23rd. Toyota has also opened official reservations for the truck. Toyota’s Hilux will compete in India against the Isuzu D-Max in the niche segment of lifestyle pickup trucks.Toyota Hilux was also spotted on the set of a commercial in Gurugram, Haryana. The Hilux was seen completely unmasked and covered in a bright red shade. It was previously reported that it would arrive via the CBU route, but new reports indicate that it will arrive as a CKD.
The Toyota Hilux will be built on the same IMV-2 platform as the Innova and Fortuner. However, this pickup is significantly longer than the two cars, measuring just under 5.3m in length and with a wheelbase of more than 3m, making it a road behemoth. This pickup will be roughly the same width as the Indian Fortuner. This truck gets a large hexagonal grille clad in plastic upfront.
The headlights protrude from the grille and contour neatly along the edge to the fender. Only the flared wheel arches are visible from the side. A side step is also shown. The chrome finish extends to the rearview mirrors and door handles. It also gets a fender mirror that matches the body color. The rear, like all pickup trucks, is simple, with small taillights and a cargo bed gate. This car’s rugged and off-road content is neatly packed within its round arches. It has a high ground clearance and a low approach angle. The Hilux shares the same platform as the Fortuner and Innova.
