TVS Apache RTR 165 RP Teased
TVS has just published a teaser video for a two-wheeler under the Race Performance sub-brand. The forthcoming motorcycle is expected to be the TVS Apache RTR 165 RP, according to a trademark registration filed a few months ago.
The TVS Apache RTR 165 RP is likely to be based on the RTR 160 4V from the company. The 160 in the latter’s designation referred to its engine displacement, and if this is the case with the RTR 165 RP, we may witness a little increase in engine capacity. In such a situation, the engine internals on the 165 RP might be altered. Surprisingly, this will help the motorcycle maintain its performance lead.
While the teaser doesn’t disclose much, the next two-wheeler from the Race Performance sub-brand is expected to have a feature set that is unrivaled in the segment. We could even see it gain adjustable suspension, similar to the RTR 200 4V’s top-spec model. Riding modes are another feature that is likely to make its way to the RTR 165 RP.
It won’t be long now that the teaser video is out before the bike is revealed. Depending on the degree of the improvements, the RTR 165 RP would likely cost roughly Rs 5,000-10,000 more than the top-spec RTR 160 4V. For reference, the RTR 160 4V costs between Rs 1.15 lakh and Rs 1.21 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
