Yamaha MT-25 Launched in Malaysia At INR 3.81 Lakh And Makes 36 PS Of Maximum Power

The Yamaha MT series of motorcycles for streetfighters are adored worldwide for their moderate styling and exciting performance. In Malaysia, Yamaha has expanded its portfolio by introducing the MT-25. The latest MT entry is priced at 21,500 RM that translates into 3,81 lakh INR. The R25 is built and inspires its elder brother, the MT-03. Although we have the MT-15, based on the R15, it is quite possible that the MT-25 can make its way here.

Following Yamaha MT-series “Darkness” theme, the MT-25 is known as the ‘Darkness Rush.’ Due to its very mean appearance, the MT-25 will find purchasers alone in Malaysia’s market.

The 250cc parallel-twin motor is the powertrain of the Yamaha MT-25. It is a liquid-cooled engine with DOHC configuration. It can pump out a maximum capacity of 36 PS and a maximum torque of 23.6Nm. A 6-speed transmission unit is used in the mill. The Yamaha MT-25 2020 is located on a tubular diamond frame with an astonishing semi-finished look with a muscle fuel tank, a stacking seat, a pipe, an engine cowl, and a dual-tone body color.

It has the design philosophy of other MT motorcycles in terms of styling. The LED headlight is separated from a centered LED headlight by the LED DRLs. The hazard-powered LED turn signals are a standard device and a full digital LCD panel is included in the cockpit. At 165 kg, the MT-25, Ice Fluo, and Yamaha Blu come in two colors. The 2020 Yamaha MT-25 looks a lot bolder and more masculine thanks to the forks in the USD front. The back end of the 250cc MT has a sharp rear light and is quite appealing thanks to the wider rear tire.

The Yamaha MT-25 has KYB upside-down forks for the front suspension, with 37 mm in diameter and a rear mono-shock that is preloadable in seven steps. Braking is performed with the front and rear hydraulic disc and standard ABS with two channels. As already mentioned, the odds are rather slim for the MT-25.
Also, it is most probably the MT-03 that is based on the Yamaha R3 if you get a more powerful sibling of the MT-15.

In terms of the R3, Yamaha was just recently released from the Monster Energy MotoGP Edition of the YZF-R3 2021 in the USA, while still away from our market. The motorcycle will be available from September 2020 to intra-country markets for 5599 USD. The R3 received not only that but also another attractive color scheme named Electric Teal. With MotoGP colors coming up at $300 more, motorcycles in the U.S. cost the same as before. As far as power is concerned, the motorcycle continues with a liquid-cooled in-line 2-cylinder motor of 321cc with a capacity of 42 bhp @ 10,750 rpm and a torque of 29,6 Nm @ 9,000 rpm. With KTM in mind to get back to India for the heavily updated RC 30, it’s time for Yamaha India.
