Ford F-150 Raptor Revealed – Details And Specifications
The all-new Ford F-150 Raptor pick up has been unveiled. Today, the current Ford Raptor has a whole new design, more facilities in its third generation, and is said to be much more capable of off-road than ever before.
With a big, black-out grille and LED headlamps, the new Ford F-150 Raptor is fully renovated. The power dome hood has a modern heat extractor and functional side vents inspired by the intake of the fighter jet F-22 Raptor. There’s an extra tailgate appliqué with the big ‘Ford’ text. The backlights are also blacked out.
The rear and front bumpers are both made of steel, and the rear bumpers are specially built for high visibility and hang the dual exhaust tips high up against the truck. A wider front skid plate is also available on the new Raptor. Ford also sells optional rigid off-road lights, which have the modules in the front bumper.
With two 12 inch screens in the middle of the stage, the all-new Ford F-150 Raptor is totally redefined. One screen is for the digital instrumental cluster, and the other is for the infotainment system. It also gets a new aluminum paddle shifter steering wheel and aluminum trim on doors, instrument panel, and center console. The Raptor is also available with carbon fiber interior trimming and Recaro seats as accessories.
The new Raptor is fitted with the Ford 4 infotainment system, connected to FordPass car technologies, and is also capable of getting alerts over the radio. Other features include Apple car play and android auto compatibility, an 18 speaker bang and cruise control, and a 360-degree parking camera.
The bold ‘FORD’ grille with the classic amber lights and DRLs is present, while the rough front punch not only seems tough with ‘Made Ford,’ it helps to get a much better angle approach. The Fox shocks are in terms of their profiles, which render it higher than the F-150 norm. Additionally, the 35-inch off-road tires, which can be upgraded to 37-inch with BF Goodrich TA KO2s tire, complement its role. On the back, the blackout application on the tailgate appears not only violent but also visually breaks off.
The new Fox Live Valve internal bypass shocks are another highlight with position-sensitive damping modification. These are the biggest shocks ever on a Raptor, with anodized aluminum bodies measuring 3.1 inches in diameter, which are packed with a modern, low friction fluid specifically designed to minimize the frictional loss in order to improve on-road comfort. The Live Valve shocks come with new electronically controlled, race-proven base valves, allowing a corner damping of 1000 lbs at desert speeds.
Ford says the modern suspension sensors will adjust damping speeds independently 500 times per second at each corner so that the truck can react before a changing terrain is even registered by the driver.
There is currently no official news about the decision of Ford to carry the latest Raptor to India. But the auto manufacturer will carry the Ranger Raptor out to India as a CBU. In India, also the pick-up truck spotted while testing in India.
The Ford joint venture (JV) with Mahindra was recalled in India, and both car manufacturers were mutually agreed. However, despite the JV’s loss, Mahindra and Ford will continue to manufacture C-SUV in mid-size and other models jointly in India.
