Husqvarna E-Pilen Electric Motorcycle To Be Launched In 2022

Husqvarna plans to introduce an electric motorcycle called E-Pilen as early as 2022 and it seems that the bike’s development work has already started.

KTM and Bajaj are known to be planning a model onslaught in the electric 2-wheeler segment and jointly developing an exclusive platform for the same. Now, it has transpired that it will benefit Husqvarna too.

Pierer Mobility (who owns KTM, Husqvarna brands) revealed during an investor presentation that an electric motorcycle named “Husqvarna E-Pilen” will make its debut in 2022.

The bike will be made at its Chakan plant in India by Bajaj Auto and reports suggest it will be made available in 4 kW and 10 kW variants, which is in line with the products to be made using the common electric platform of Bajaj and KTM.
As seen in the above image, there is also an electric scooter under development that will hit the market next year. It even has the same 4 kW electric motor output as the Chetak.

This common platform, mentioned above, will spawn electric 2-wheelers with 3-10 kW electric motors using a 48V system, and the products will compete on the entry-level electric vehicle market because of the expected low power output.
